The New Social Media Norm

In Life Tips, Mental Health, News and Info

It’s a different world for our kids than it was for us and one of the main reasons is the prolific use of technology, specifically, social media. Like most tools, social media was intended for good and does have many positive qualities, but like most tools, there’s a human tendency to find the things that are not so good and allow it to harm us.  According to a 2018 Pew Research finding, some 78% of 18- to 24-year-olds use Snapchat, and a sizeable majority of these users (71%) visit the platform multiple times per day. Similarly, 71% of Americans in this age group now use Instagram. This is the new normal and we need to understand what its affects are and how it changes who we are. Join us April 28th as we dig deep into this and other topics that are part of our kids’ new norm.
