Lindsay AkersAssistant Clinical Director

    Dr. Lindsay Akers is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist. She completed her Masters in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary and her PhD in Counseling from University of North Texas. She loves working with clients across the lifespan, seeking to understand their unique experiences and circumstances. Using a primarily person-centered approach to counseling, Lindsay works to provide an environment of empathic understanding so that clients feel safe, heard, and known.

    Lindsay also has a passion for psychoeducational assessments. She enjoys working with kids and families who are feeling stuck to provide insight and understanding with the hopes of promoting positive growth for the child.

    Outside of His Story, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her husband and their golden retriever, baking, reading, and traveling all over. She and her husband are also looking forward to welcoming a baby girl at the end of Summer 2023.
