D’Anna Sims

    D’Anna is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor who enjoys working with adolescents and adults. Her hope is to meet you where you are at in life as you seek to understand your goals. Her desire is to provide compassionate support in a comfortable setting to facilitate trust and growth. She has experience helping people who are struggling with grief, loss, trauma, anxiety, depression, family conflict, relationship issues, and parenting concerns. She is passionate about walking with people going through the grief process resulting from any type of loss.

    She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). Her approach incorporates cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, and Christian counseling where desired. She has a Master’s degree in Counseling and Human Development from Hardin-Simmons University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Howard Payne University. She became a licensed professional counselor in 2011 and joined His Story in 2016. She has worked in private practice and as a therapist in a hospital setting. Prior to her job as a counselor, she worked as a teacher in a public school classroom and in a support staff role at her church. D’Anna is a certified Prepare-Enrich facilitator and is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.

    D’Anna and her husband have been married since 1998 and have two children. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, hiking, and reading.
