Sam Arthur

Sam Arthur is a Graduate level practicum student currently pursuing his M.Sc. In Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Tarleton State University. He holds an M.A. in Business Management from Dallas Baptist University and an M.Sc. in Applied Psychology from Tarleton State University. He has spent a major part of the last 17 years working in healthcare operations, academia, human development and playing key roles in ministry and church leadership.

Sam’s personal life experiences and vast engagements with individuals from diverse backgrounds influenced his decision to become a counselor. Sam’s background contributes to his person-centered approach in providing clients with the space to build trust and collaboratively work through solutions that will support their best interests and wellbeing. He prioritizes the building of a genuine, trusting connection with each client and believes that healing happens through feeling seen, heard, and understood. He also integrates evidence-based approaches tailored to clients’ unique needs to help them move toward the outcomes that matter most. His interests include working with young adults, adults, couples, working professionals, college students, and ministry and church leaders.

As a beginning clinician, Sam will work closely with his supervisor, Nadine Bracy, in nurturing and advancing his skills through the practicum experience, as he provides ethical and person-centered care to clients. He finds it an honor and privilege for clients to allow him to walk the different journeys of life together with them.
