Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a version of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which is tailored to address maladaptive thoughts, or stuck points, which have resulted from trauma in those who are experiencing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). CPT is a structured program with weekly homework assignments and is typically 12 sessions in length. CPT is well researched and has been shown to reduce symptoms of PTSD and comorbid depression. CPT is useful for treating PTSD resulting from various traumas.
