Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a cutting-edge, evidence-based approach to psychotherapy that helps individuals quickly resolve trauma and other mental health challenges. Unlike traditional talk therapy, ART allows clients to replace distressing images in their mind with positive ones – often in as little as one session. This process, guided by the therapist, helps eliminate triggers, intrusive thoughts, and nightmares without requiring the client to discuss the trauma in detail.
ART combines eye movement techniques with elements of Gestalt, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Guided Imagery, significantly accelerating the healing process. The calming eye movements used in ART produce theta brain waves, linked to meditative state and emotional regulation.
Recognized by the American Psychological Association’s Division 12 as an evidence-based treatment, ART is effective not only for PTSD but also for issues like anxiety, depression, OCD, eating disorders, and even learning-related challenges such as dyslexia.
