Gabriela Spicer

Gabriela is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Le’Ann Solmonson, Ph.D., LPC-S. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Evangel University and a Master of Counseling: Clinical Mental Health from Concordia University Irvine. Gabriela is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Texas Counseling Association.

As a bilingual therapist, Gabriela enjoys working with groups, adults, college-aged students, and culturally diverse clients. She believes in an integrative approach to therapy that focuses on the unique needs of each person. Gabriela uses various modalities that are proven to be effective, such as emotion-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, positive psychology, person-centered therapy, existential therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness therapy, art therapy, and eye-movement-desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR).

Gabriela believes people have an innate ability to grow. It is part of how they are created. Life experiences, personal development, and relationships can hinder that capacity for growth and connection. Therapy creates a space to focus on how each person’s inner world, mind, and heart affect their life. Gabriela sees counseling as an opportunity to create a safe environment where a person can feel accepted and seen. It is a place where, through a collaborative relationship, she can work together with each client to accomplish that which is important to them.

Gabriela has served in ministry capacities for 15+ years. In her spare time, she enjoys nature, Pilates, watching movies, and spending time with her family and friends. Married to her husband since 1998, she has four children and one big Newfiedoodle.
