Della Vaughan

Della is a Licensed Professional Counselor and earned her Masters in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. In addition to her work at His-Story Coaching and Counseling, Della counsels missionaries through Global Counseling Initiative, and provides advisory support to Silas Project.

Della believes the counseling relationship is built on acceptance, understanding, compassion, and mutual collaboration. She seeks to help clients realize they are not alone, and to guide them to hope and healing through restorative relationships with God and the people in their lives. A lifelong learner, Della is passionate about helping clients experience growth and meaning in life.

When she is not working, Della enjoys reading, writing, traveling, hiking, caring for her animals, and spending time with family and friends, which includes food, laughter, great conversation, and good coffee. She is a former educator and has transitioned her love of teaching into writing and public speaking. Della and her husband, John, have been married since 1991, and have three adult children – a son, daughter and son-in-law. Their family works with Family Legacy Missions International as ambassadors and sponsors of orphans. Della and John are members of Gateway Church in Southlake.

Della is a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator and seminar director, is trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy, and is a member of the American Counseling Association, Christian Association of Psychological Studies, and Christian Counselors of Texas.
